Interschool Learning tournament!
On Saturday, May 18th, Chi Miami Shores hosted an Interschool Learning Tournament for both Chi Miami and Chi Miami Shores. Prior to the tournament, rules were reviewed for both the students and the spectators. Following Bow-In to GM Steiner and Master Fruitstone, students were treated to some great Black Belt competition in both Patterns and Sparring. Then, color belts had the opportunity to compete as well. Following each round of Patterns competition, participants were called up to the judges, and were given tips on how to improve their technique. Black Belts had the opportunity to run the rings and gain experience as center referees and umpires. In all, 35 competitors got the chance to show their stuff!
Thanks to all of the parent volunteers and student help making the event go off so well!

Sparring Seminar 4/27!
On Saturday, April 27th, Chi Red and Black Belts and adult students from both Kendall and Miami Shores participated in a tournament sparring seminar at GM Steiner's school. Prior to training, both Master Fruitstone and GM Steiner went over team etiquette and the Student-Instructor Relationship from the encyclopedia of TKD. When students got on the floor to train, they worked on drills against linear and circular attacks. The training dealt with advanced concepts of sparring, and concluded with a sparring session where everyone got the opportunity to fight against one another.

Mark Drake visite Chi in Miami and Miami Shores!
Mr. Mark Drake, III Dan, visited both GM Steiner's school and Master Fruitstone's school while on vacation from England. He trained at least 3 hours/day for 11 days, alternating between Chi Miami and Chi Miami Shores. Somewhere along his vacation, he found time to go shopping, enjoy the beaches, go to the Everglades, and relax! He took lots of notes, and we appreciate his commitment to TKD!
